The Government of Kerala has accorded sanction to start Scouts and Guides units in Higher Secondary Schools. Hence applications have been invited from Principals of Government and Aided Higher Secondary Schools for starting Scouts and Guides unit in their schools.
For starting a Scouts unit, there should be a minimum 16 boys of Plus one or Plus two classes willing to associate with Scouts. A teacher (Male/Female) should be willing to work as Scout master. He/ She should attend seven days basic training which is scheduled for the last week of June or first week of July 2014.
For starting a Guides unit, there should be a minimum 16 girls of Plus one or Plus two classes willing to associate with Guides. A female teacher should be willing to work as Guide Captain. She should attend seven days basic training which is scheduled for the last week of June or first week of July 2014.
In Co-education Schools, Principals can apply for both Scouts and Guides units. The application for starting Scouts and Guides units should be submitted before 5th June 2014.
